Grand Tour (Lowland Double) - Description:
The Grand Tour is the oldest double century in the nation. The organizer also offers a triple and quadruple century option with a 24 hour cut-off time. For the double century, there exists a lowland and a highland route.
The ride starts in Malibu and leads north through three counties, all the way to Rincon Point in Carpinteria. The first and final 25 miles are on Pacific Coast Highway, next to the Ocean. The 10 miles to and from Carpinteria are on the Old Highway and Highway 101, also along the Pacific. Around the halfway point, the route passes through beautiful Ojai Valley. In between, some urban and semi-rural riding is required.

Grand Tour (Lowland Double) - Personal Notes:
This was my first double century, so I opted for the lowland route with the least amount of climbing.
Between lunch and the post-ride meal, I consumed eight cans of coke or so - it must have been a personal record.
