Cool Breeze Metric Double Century - Description:
The Cool Breeze Metric Double Century is a hilly ride on great roads through Ventura and Santa Barbara County. Multiple routes are available, including a century and a metric century.
The ride starts in Ventura and follows the bike path up Ojai Valley, before eventually passing through Oak View and Ojai. From here the course climbs some more through nearby plantations and returns in a loop back to Ojai.
It then continues towards Lake Casitas, following Casitas Pass Road. Next, the course ascends and descends Gobernador Canyon, before leading back to Casitas Pass Road and Foothills Road.
It then continues parallel to the coast, with a short detour through Montecito Golf Club. From here the course climbs again and follows East Mountain Drive, offering a beautiful view of Santa Barbara. An out-and-back section leads towards Goleta, the turn-around point.
On the way back the now fairly flat course follows the Ocean, passing through Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland, and Carpinteria, and eventually leading back to Ventura.

Cool Breeze Metric Double Century - Personal Notes:
This is a great ride, and like the name suggests, the temperature was okay for the time of the year (it gets hot around Lake Casitas though).
Sandra was signed up for the metric century, but since the course did not overlap with the metric double, she was riding with me to Montecito. We started late and were riding at a relatively slow pace, so when I continued on my own, the rest stops were already closing or closed.
