Solvang Spring Double Century • Description
Solvang, the faux "Danish Capital of America", is one of the most popular cycling regions in California. The Solvang Spring Double Century is one of two doubles in the area (the one with less climbing). The other event is held in fall.
On the way north to Morro Bay the ride visits Santa Ynez, Los Olivos, passes through Foxen Canyon, then visits Sisquoc, Santa Maria, Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, and San Luis Obispo.
On the way back south to Solvang the route visits Shell Beach, Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, Oceano, Callender, Guadalupe, Orcutt, Los Alamos, passes through Drum Canyon, and finally visits Buellton.

Thanks to some good pacelines and tailwind on the way back, I was able to finish in personal record time.
The day after the event Sandra and I went wine tasting in Ballard Canyon.
