Solvang Autumn Double Century • Description
Solvang, the faux "Danish Capital of America", is one of the most popular cycling regions in California. The Solvang Autumn Double Century is one of two doubles in the area (the one with more climbing). The other event is held in spring.
On the way north to San Luis Obispo the ride visits Santa Ynez, Los Olivos, passes through Foxen Canyon, then visits Sisquoc, leads up Tepusquet Road, then visits Nipomo, and Arroyo Grande.
On the way back south to Solvang the route visits Shell Beach, Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, Oceano, Callender, Guadalupe, Casmalia, Vandenberg Village, Mission Hills, Lompoc, follows Santa Rosa Road, and finally visits Buellton.

Until the stop in San Luis Obispo I rode solo, then joined forces with Jim M. and Don P. from San Diego. On the way back we picked up some more riders.
